I’m Dr. Michael A Pasternack, a Chiropractor in the Winchester Virginia area for the last eleven years. I see patients presenting to my office with a wide variety of complaints/symptoms. Perhaps one of the most common complaints patients present with is neck pain. Most patients presenting with neck pain have already seen their family doctor as well as possibly a specialist and they are still suffering with their neck pain. The typical medical approach is to try and hide or mask the patients symptoms with drugs, medicines, shots, ect… The problem with this approach is that it never addresses the actual underlying cause of the probem, the reason why the pain is occurring. My focus as a Chiropractor is to find the underlying cause of the problem and work on fixing that. As we “fix” the underlying cause the symptoms dissappear on their own, naturally. While there are many possible causes for neck pain I have found the most frequent cause to be from a misalignmernt of the bones of the neck which is “pinching” the nerve(s). In Chiropractic we refer this misalignment and pinching as a vertebral subluxation.
If the cause of a patients neck pain is from a misalignment of the vertebrae, I put gentle pressure on the spine to help re-align it to the proper position. I also use physical therapy procedures and rehabilatative exercises to help our patients get great long term results. If you have neck pain, you can feel comfortable coming to see me and letting me put my almost 20 years of experience to work for you.

I’m Dr. Michael A Pasternack a Chiiropractor in Winchester Virginia. I’ve been in practice for almost twenty years and have seen literally thousands of patients with varying complaints/conditions. One of the most frequent conditions I have seen is lower back pain. Studies show that most adults will experience at least one episode of lower back pain during their life which will cause them to seek out the services of a medical professional. Many people will have numerous ongoing episodes of lower back pain which they battle throughtout their lives. The pain itself is not the cause of the problem; however, the pain is a symptom that something is wrong. The typical “medical” approach involves medications of some type to try and mask the symptoms but does nothing to find nor address the underlying problem which is causing the symptom in the first place. As a Chiropractor I takes a totally different approach; I focus on finding and fixing the UNDERLYING cause of the problem. By fixing the underlying problem, the pain starts to dissappear on its own as there is no longer a reason for the pain to present. There are numerous possible causes for lower back pain, some of which include: bulging disc, herniated disc, ruptured disc, sprain/strain, cancer, infection, borken bone, dislocation, facet joint problems, vertebral subluxation ( aka pinched nerve ), ect….. Many of these possible causes for lower back pain present with differing signs, symptoms, and examination findings. I ALWAYS start with a thorough consultation, examination, and x-rays so I can get to the underlying cause of the patients problem. Once I have determined the underlying cause of the patients condition, I then come up with a care plan designed at correcting the underlying cause and not merely masking the symptom/pain. Just treating the symptom/masking the pain is dangerous to the long term health and function of the body. I have been able to help my patients not only feel better but live more active, pain free lifestyles, with great long term results. I look forward to helping you live a more active and pain free life.

I’m Dr. Michael A Pasternack a chiropractor in winchester Virginia. I have helped many patients over the past 20 years of practice. A common condition that many patients present to my office with is headaches. Headaches can be caused by a variety of factors such as: stress, food allergies, environmental issues, drug interactions, car accidents, ect… I always start out with a thorough consultation, examination and x-rays to help determine the underlying cause of a patient’s headaches. I have found the most overlooked and frequent cause of headaches to be pinching of the nerves in the neck and upper back areas. This pinching of the nerves causes the muscles along the spine to go into spasm and become tight which then restricts blood flow to the brain and causes headaches. I have helped thousands of patients over the last 20 years with their headaches. I find by focusing on the underlying cause of the headache rather then trying to just treat the headache itself I have been able to get great results for my patients. I would strongly urge anyone who is sufering from headaches to come in and see me to find out if I can help them live a headache free life.
